Human vision consist of two optic globes each recording individually shape and colours with a slightly different viewpoint. The brain receive these images and trasforms them into a single 3 dimensional image.    Stereoscopic projection is based on the same principle: two slightly different images are projected onto the screen and the imaging system must enable the left eye to see only the left eye image, and the right eye to see only the right image.
